Your Lava® brand motion lamp will function best if it is operated no longer than 10 hours at a time. Full “Lava” function will be achieved after lamp is used 5 or 6 times.

The lamp operates best at room temperatures between 70°F to 74°F. Do not place near sources of heat or cold such as heat and air conditioning vents.

Do not move or shake your Lava® brand motion lamp while the “Lava®” is molten. Permanent malfunction may occur and void your warranty.

Do not loosen or remove cap vessel. Breaking the vessel seal will ruin the product and void your warranty.

Do not add any fluids or solids to your lamp. The air space at the top of the vessel has been provided to allow for expansion.

Do not operate lamp on any warm or hot surfaces. Operate lamp only on room temperature surfaces.

Operation or storage of lamp in direct sunlight will cause colors to fade.

Always operate the Lava® brand motion lamp on a firm, stationary surface.

Your Lava® brand motion lamp operates at a very warm temperature and the vessel is made of glass. Operate out of reach of small children and pets.

For a replacement bulb, use a 40 watt frosted appliance bulb conforming to the relamping information shown adjacent to the lamp socket. Variance in lamp size or wattage will produce unsatisfactory operation, fire, or breakage of the glass vessel. Contact your lamp dealer for a replacement bulb.

The color hue of the “Lava®” will mellow after about 10-20 hours of operation.

It is important that the light bulb in your lamp base be completely centered and tightened. The lamp bulb and socket may be slightly moved during shipping. If so, gently push socket with your fingers to recenter it. Make sure that the lamp is unplugged before touching it.

During the initial warm-up of you Lava® brand motion lamp the heat coil in the base may tend to stand on end or float to the top of the vessel. If this happens, keep your lamp operating for 4 or more hours to allow the “Lava” material to become completely melted. The coil should then automatically drop down to its correct position in the base of the vessel. If the coil does drop down, twirl the vessel gently in the base and the coil will drop.
